Description of the walk

Starts from Chantambre. Parking available at the junction of theGR® andGRP® trails between Juine and Essonne and the road.

(S/E) Follow the road, keeping to the left, heading south-east until you reach the Fork in the road.

(1) Turn left into the cul-de-sac, then veer right onto the stony track and continue for about 700 m until you reach a junction.

(2) Turn right, south-east, onto a track (carrying on straight ahead and then turning right onto the next track).
You can extend the circular loop above Buno aerodrome.
You’ll reach a junction with a GR®-marked path.

(3) Turn right and you’ll reach a road.

(4) Cross it and continue straight ahead on theGR®. Leave the pond on your right, rejoin the road and follow it to the left to return to the car park (S/E).

A lovely little walk – we went there in mid-July, when the pink heather was in bloom, contrasting beautifully with the white rocks and the green foliage; it was magnificent. We spotted some white-faced hornbills and a roe deer. I did the walk twice that month and didn’t come across a single other walker.
