From Porte de la Villette to Gare de Lyon

This urban route allows you to discover a large number of parks situated on the edge of the ring road in eastern Paris. Serving as an introduction tothe GR®75, it runs partly through the Bois de Vincennes and passes close to several other notable sites such as the Philharmonie, the Cité des Sciences and the Père Lachaise Cemetery. As you pass through the many parks, you might feel as though you’re far from the city, even though it’s only a stone’s throw away.

This walk is part of a multi-day hike: Le tour de Paris par le GR®75

I regret the lack of signage near the bells where there is construction work. Most of them are hidden behind safety barriers.

It's a shame that the GR75 has completely ignored the beautiful René Dumont green corridor, from Vincennes to Gare de Lyon.

An interesting route, taking in places you wouldn’t necessarily visit otherwise. The walk focuses on car-free areas. Unfortunately, we discover that Paris is overrun with rats!
