From Val d'Allos le Village, head towards Val d'Allos la Foux.
The route starts from the car park in the hamlet of La Baumelle on the left.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, follow the B-road to the left until you reach the junction leading to the hamlet of La Baume.
(1) Continue to your right towards the hamlets of La Baume and Les Gays. Keep to the right until you reach the road and the hamlet of Les Gays.
(2) Cross the road, turn left for a few metres, then head down to the right, and quickly left onto a dirt track leading to the Verdon.
(3) Cross the river via a wooden bridge and continue on to the Valboyère shepherd’s hut.
(4) Continue the hike through the Bois Noir forest. On leaving the woods, head towards the Mable shepherd’s hut and the small pass hut.
(5) Continue along the path, cross the Ravin de Valdemars and proceed to the next junction, near a ford.
(6) Before the ford, keep left to return to the starting point in the hamlet of La Baumelle, keeping to the right throughout. In the hamlet, keep left all the way to the chapel.
(7) Take a short break before arriving at Notre-Dame des Lumières, a chapel built at the end of the17th century. Then return to the starting point (S/E).
