Description of the walk

Park near the tennis courts, in the area known as Pont de Labrau.

(S/E) Leave the tennis courts behind you and head towards the bridge over the Verdon. At the bend in the Verdon torrent, walk past the residential chalets on your right, then continue along the signposted path. Your first few steps will take you straight to the Auriac ravine.

(1) Cross the wooden footbridge. Continue south, then keep to the right until you reach the junction near the Cabane de la Selette.

(2) Turn left until you reach a fork in the path.

(3) An alternative route is available by turning left for a return trip to Lac des Grenouilles, approximately 350 m away.
Then continue to the right, following the GR® de Pays Tour du Haut Verdon. After about 2 km, you’ll see the Cabane de Rougnouse on your right.

(4) Carry on towards the Valdemars Forest House. You’ll come to a Y-junction.

(5) The Valdemars Forest House can be reached via an alternative route by taking the path on your left. If you do not wish to take this route, continue to your right towards the Baisse de Valdemars (this is the option shown on the map).

(6) You’ll arrive at the Baisse de Valdemars. The return journey will follow the same route in the opposite direction (S/E).

A very beautiful hike above La Foux d'Allos, easy in dry weather. The climb is gradual and mainly through forest, passing several different valleys, several easy scree slopes, raspberry bushes and blueberries galore along the way, and splendid views of the Mont Pelat massif and the surrounding area.
