Park near the tennis courts in the area known as Pont de Labrau.
(S/E) At the bend in the Verdon stream, you’ll walk past the residential chalets and then continue along the marked path.
Your first steps will take you straight to the Auriac ravine, which you’ll cross via a sturdy wooden footbridge: a refreshing moment guaranteed. Next comes a shaded climb up to the private Selette hut.
(1) As you climb, you can look back over the Val d’Allos – La Foux resort. To your right, the path continues towards the Baisse de l’Auriac in the direction of the Refuge de l’Estrop. You should therefore head left. You will cross meadows that are particularly flower-filled in June. You will arrive at another fork in the path.
(2) Ignore the path on the right. One last push will take you to Lac des Grenouilles.
(3) It is not uncommon to see it dry up in August or during years of severe drought. The return journey follows the path in the opposite direction to (S/E).
