Take exit 1 Place de la Gare (take the underground passage regardless of the direction of arrival).
Green and white + red and yellow markings
(S) Upon exiting the station, turn right immediately, pass between a pharmacy and another building, and you will arrive at the station car park. Cross the car park, staying as close to the railway line as possible. Shortly before the end of the car park, turn right and pass under the railway line. On the other side, turn right onto a stabilised path and follow the railway line on your right. At thefirst intersection, turn left onto a wide path bordered by two ditches.
Green and white markings
(1) At the next intersection (Carrefour du Bouleau), turn left (ignore the arrow pointing to the right). Follow a gravel path north, ignore a path on the right and continue straight ahead at the next intersection (plot no. 37).
No signposting
(2) At the Carrefour du Sanglier, follow the path on the right between plots nos. 18 and 36. Continue straight ahead until you reach a forest barrier. Cross the D471 (be extremely careful, very busy road) and continue opposite on a tarmac forest road. You will reach the Carrefour des Trois Mares (forest house on the left; picnic table).
Green and white + red and yellow + red and white markings
(3) Take thesecond path on the left. Follow a fenced plot on your left, ignore a path on the left and follow a plot of birch trees on your right.
No markings
Cross a stabilised path (ignore the arrow indicating a left turn) and continue straight ahead on a wide grassy path between plots nos. 3 and 7.
Red and yellow signposts
(4) At the T-junction, follow the wide gravel path to the right. Ignore a narrow path on the left and, at the next junction, turn left (plot no. 25).
(5) At the junction that appears after about 150 m, turn right onto a path bordered by a ditch on the right. At the next junction, go straight ahead and cross a stream. Stay on the path, heading south-east, and follow a fence on your right.
(6) Go between two metal gates (private property) and continue straight ahead on the path. Leave the forest, go through two more metal gates and continue along the edge of the field on your left and the woods on your right. At the corner of the woods, continue straight ahead between the fields. Go through a chicane made of two small rocks, ignore a path on the right and go straight ahead towards some houses.
(7) Pass another chicane, return to the tarmac and follow the gardens of the houses on your right. Cross Chemin de la Belle Épine on your left and turn right onto the main street. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead along Rue du Clos de la Sauterelle and follow the cemetery on your right. Turn left with the street and cross Rue des Farinas on the left. Follow Place Adolphe Besoul on your left, join Rue de la Brie and follow it to the right. Pass the town hall and then the church of Favières.
(8) Turn left at the corner of the church and go downhill. Just before a bridge, turn left onto Rue du Marais and follow the Marsange on your right. At the next intersection, turn right, still on Rue du Marais, and follow a car park on your left. Cross the Marsange again.
(9) At the end of the bridge, turn left, go through a chicane and take a grassy path. Then turn right, go slightly uphill and leave a building on your left. Continue straight ahead and cross a small lawn. You will come to a paved path; follow it to the right (south).
(10) At the corner of a wood, turn left and follow the wood on your right. At the next junction (two metal gates), turn right onto a wide path, which is the only option available.
No signposts
(11) At the crossroads, continue straight ahead on a small road, preferably on the right-hand side, which is considerably wider than the left-hand side. Go around the fenced buildings of Villemigeon on the right and ignore two paths on the right (private property). Stay on the road until you reach the corner of a small fenced-off water treatment plant.
Red and yellow markings
(12) Then turn right, leaving the station on your left, and follow the grassy verge of a stream on your left. Further on, go around a pond on the right and pass under an electricity pylon.
(13) Cross a paved road and follow Rue des Prés Bataille opposite. Continue straight ahead and ignore all the streets on the right. At the stop sign, continue straight ahead and immediately turn right into Rue de l'Abreuvoir. Cross Rue de la Roseraie on the left, cross the Marsange again and continue straight ahead.
No signposts
(14) At the stop sign, turn right onto Rue Marcel Micheau and walk along a car park on your left. At the corner of No. 13, climb the stairs on the left and, halfway up, first turn right then left to come out higher up in a car park. Turn left (red and yellow sign), walk along the church on your right and you will come to a small square (war memorial on the right).
(15) Then turn left, pass in front of the town hall and go under a porch framed by two turrets. Follow Rue de Paris to the right and leave a fountain on your left. Cross Rue des Fosses on the right and continue straight ahead. Go around a roundabout on the right and follow the D216E opposite towards Gretz-Armainvilliers. Just before a railway bridge, turn right up Rue Georges Clemenceau and you will soon see Tournan station on your left (E).
To return home:
- RER - Line E, towards Paris.
- Transilien - Line P, towards Paris-Est or Coulommiers.
