Park in the car park on the Allée des Lions, on the D471, between Collégien and Pontcarré
(S/E) Take the magnificent Allée des Séquoias and you will soon reach a four-way junction.
(1) Turn left, heading north-east, onto the path leading to the Étang de Taffarette and the Ru de la Brosse.
(2) Turn left to admire the former laundry house at Ferrières-en-Brie Castle, built by Joseph Froelicher in 1840.
(3) Turn round and walk along the edge of the pond, following thePR®® signpost, until you reach the bridge at the far end of the pond.
(4) Cross the bridge, then, still following the PR®, turn right towards the north-east and take a small flight of steps to reach the foot of the bell tower of Saint-Rémy Church in Ferrières-en-Brie.
(5) Walk round the bell tower and turn right, heading south-east, onto Rue Jean Jaurès. At the bend, turn left onto Rue Roger Salengro and continue until you reach Rue du Château.
(6) Turn slightly to the right, then walk alongside the pond until you reach a four-way junction at the main entrance to the château.
(7) Continue straight ahead to walk alongside a second pond and reach a pedestrian gate.
(8) Go through this gate, which is always open, and enter the woodland to reach the large crossroads at Grille de Belle Assise.
(9) Continue to the right, due south, along the Chemin de la Rucherie, until you reach the Carrefour de la Grille de la Planchette.
(10) Turn right onto the Route de la Guillaumetterie, which is also theGRP®® de la Brie Verte, signposted in yellow and red. Take care here: the path can be muddy in the wet season. Turn right again to reach the underpass beneath the D471.
(11) Take the underpass and continue straight ahead to reach the village of Pontcarré; turn left onto a path running behind the cemetery. You’ll arrive at Saint-Roch Church.
(12) Cross over to take Rue de la Bretèche and, continuing to the right, turn left onto the magnificent Allée de la Ferrandière. You’ll emerge at the Carrefour de la Ferrandière and the picnic area.
(13) Carry on straight ahead, still following theGRP®®. Keep to the right at the next bend. Cross the Route de Roissy and you’ll then come to a T-junction just before the Allée du Tour du Parc.
(14) Turn left, cross the Chemin du Château de Croissy, and pass on the left by the Mare du Cormier. You will soon come to another crossroads with four perpendicular roads.
(15) Leave theGRP®® here and turn right to join the Allée du Tour du Parc; follow it to the right until you reach the Carrefour de la Demi Lune.
(16) Turn left onto Allée Saint-Charles, walk alongside a fenced-off property on the left and reach the Carrefour Saint-Charles.
(17) Turn left onto Allée du Tour du Parc, continuing to follow this property, until you reach the Carrefour de Lamirault.
(18) Turn right and, along a completely straight stretch, head towards the Rond-Point de Piscop; cross the D471 very carefully and return to the car park on the Allée des Lions (S/E).
