Park along the wall of the Presles-en-Brie cemetery. To leave, turn around at the end of the wall.
The green markings are intermittent, while the yellow ones are more regular.
(S/E) Leave the village on the tarmac road heading west between the fields. At the first intersection (elevation 105), turn left towards a house in the distance.
(1) As you approach it, turn left. Walk along the Bois du Fort and note the bell tower of Presles in the distance. Cross the railway line at the level crossing and continue straight on along Rue de l'Abbé Noël, which slopes down slightly.
(2) At the stop sign, use the pedestrian crossing on your left (as the crossing is not very visible) and then turn right onto Rue Abel Leblanc. After about 20 metres, turn left onto Chemin des Closeaux. Cross the Marsange.
(3) Immediately turn right onto Chemin des Vignes. The tarmac quickly gives way to a grassy path. Reach the edge of the Marsange and follow this river on your right. Pass under the TGV line and continue along the Marsange.
(4) Cross a road (the D10) and continue opposite, still along the Marsange. You will come to a ford (do not cross).
(5) Then turn left (north) along a hedge towards some houses. In the hamlet, turn left and continue straight on along Chemin des Fontaines, with houses on your left and fields on your right.
(6) At the end, turn left. After about 20 metres, cross the street and take the small road on the right (Chemin du Mez) which overlooks the street. After a right-hand bend, the road runs alongside houses on the left and splits into two. The central reservation is used to display old agricultural implements.
Cross the bridge over the TGV line.
(7) Continue along a dirt track, which turns right then left and continues north. At the end, follow Chemin des Closeaux on the left.
(3) Cross the Marsange again and, at the next junction, turn right into Rue Abel Leblanc.
(2) At the intersection immediately ahead, continue straight on Rue Abel Leblanc and ignore all side roads. Pass the town hall.
(8) At the corner of the post office, climb the small staircase on the left that leads to Place de l'Église. Walk past the church on your left, then turn right onto Rue de l'Église (restaurant, bar, tobacconist, grocery store). Then turn left onto Rue Paul Jonchery (beautiful building on the right). At the roundabout, take Rue de la Plaine opposite, walking past the bakery and pastry shop. Go under the railway line and you will arrive at the cemetery (S/E).
We decided to extend the circular route a little beyond the suggested route (approximately 12 kilometres).
