Park in the Col du Kreutzweg car park, located almost opposite Villa Mathis, on the other side of the road, on the right as you climb up from Hohwald on the D425.
(S/E) Leave the car park and go up to the left along the tarmac road marked with a blue cross. Walk along the right-hand side of the Maison Forestière and you will soon come to a crossroads with a footpath.
(1) Leave this path marked with a yellow easel and continue along the road marked with a blue cross. Be careful, as there are a few cars driving on this road. You will reach a hairpin bend.
(2) Before this bend, take the path on the left, still marked with blue crosses. Continue uphill to reach the Route de la Chaume des Veaux. Do not turn right onto this road, but continue straight ahead. You will see the roof of a yurt on the left at the end of a field. Continue on to the Kaelbenhuette Farm and you will reach another crossroads.
(3) Leave the blue cross markings and turn left onto the stony path marked with a red ring. At the next crossroads, follow the double red ring and yellow easel markings to reach the Hochchfeld path. Continue to the Col de la Charbonnière car park.
(4) Turn left onto the D57 road for a few metres, then turn right next to a shed onto the forest road. You will then come to a trail junction.
(5) Turn left and follow the red easel signposts. You will come to a crossroads with a wide forest road called Chemin de la Tanhütte.
(6) Follow it to the left and continue until you reach the Abri de la Tannhütte.
(7) Take the same forest road downhill. After a large circular route to the left, you will reach a viewpoint at a trail junction.
(8) Stay on the track, now marked with red rings. Join the D425 road, cross it carefully and descend to the right for about 50 metres on the hard shoulder along the road, then take the path on the left. Continue along this unmarked path until you reach another trail junction before a stream.
(9) Turn right to follow the bank of this stream. Return to the Anneau Rouge marked trail. Continue until you reach a bridge.
(10) Cross the bridge over this small tributary stream, which becomes the Wintzenbach. Climb a few metres, then turn left onto the path, which continues uphill. This will take you to the Hirra Farm, located on the circular section of the D425 road.
(11) Continue uphill on the forest path, marked with a yellow cross. You will arrive at Parc Alsace Aventure. Turn left and cross the D425 road with caution to reach the Col de Kreuzweg car park (S/E).
