The Yurt Trail from the Col du Kreuzweg

Parking is available at the Col du Kreuzweg car park, next to the Adventure Park – a large public car park.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, walk past the forest ranger’s house until you reach the junction.

(1)Immediately turn left onto the uphill path. Follow the path marked ‘Yellow Saltire’, signposted ‘Pelage, Chaume des Veaux’. At the Fork in the road, keep to the right and continue to the next junction.

(2) Leave the return path on your right and continue straight on along the “Yellow Saltire” path. Once you emerge from the forest, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning view of the Val de Villé and the Vosges mountains.

(3) You will then follow the old paragliding take-off track. At a place called Pelage Sud-Est, there is a beautiful panoramic view of Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle.
The path turns right and reaches a junction.

(4) Take the path on the right marked ‘Green Cross’. As the path curves, three yurts set in the heart of a meadow add a touch of escapism and a change of scenery. Walk past the yurts, following the signposts, until you reach a T-junction.

(5) Turn 90° to the right onto the path marked with a Blue Cross. Shortly afterwards, leave this path by veering right into the woodland, taking a wide right-hand bend that brings you back to the junction you passed on the way out.

(2) Follow the outward route in the opposite direction (Yellow Saltire) to return to the Col du Kreuweg car park (S/E).
