Park in the large visitor car park at Vieux Castillon, above the Col de Castillon.
(S/E) Climb up to the hillock where the ruined church of Vieux Castillon stands. After reading the information board about the history of the old village, go round the church to the right and join a path heading due north, running slightly below the road. Reach the Col de Castillon.
(1) Continue due north along the small road towards La Baisse de Scuvion.
(2) At marker 136, take the small path on the left which begins with a few concrete steps. Reach marker 137, after passing a reservoir and some antennas.
(3) Stay on the middle path which climbs through the undergrowth towards the north-east. Pass under the power line and reach the junction at marker 92.
(4) Leave the path for a short detour to Baisse de Scuvion to enjoy the view. Back on the path, continue south towards La Pierre Pointue and reach marker 93.
(5) Ignore the path leading down to the right (which you will take on the descent); continue towards La Pierre Pointue: marker 93a.
(6) Take the path climbing up to the left, heading due north towards the summit of Mont Razet. Note the numerous military remains in this area. Reach the summit and admire the 360° view.
(7) Turn back towards La Pierre Pointue.
(6) Take the path on the right, heading back the way you came, until you reach marker 93.
(5) Take the path, which is steep and stony at the start, descending to the left towards the Col de Castillon. You’ll come out onto a small road at a place called Fontanelle and continue straight on to the houses.
(8) Leave the road and take a small path on the right which leads back to the ascent route.
(3) From there, take the same path as on the way up but in the opposite direction to reach the Col de Castillon.
(1) Continue south on the road to return to the car park (S/E).
