Starting point: Place de Taisnières-en-Thiérache.
(S/E) Opposite the town hall, go around the church on the left. Take Ruelle des Écoles. Walk along the playground, go through a gate and join the D117 at a bend - take care.
(1) Follow the D117 to the left for about 50 metres. Turn left down Rue du Moulin and discover the watermill, typical of the Avesnois region, built of blue stone and brick. Go back up towards the RD117 and follow it to the left for 500 metres. You will be overlooking the meanders of the Helpe Majeure.
(2) Before the power line, turn right onto a shaded lane. You will come out onto a small road; follow it to the left.
(3) Carefully cross the D962. At the foot of the weather station, turn right. At the next fork, continue to the right and ignore the turnings on the left.
(4) At the fork, take the road on the right. Cross the D962 again with caution and take the path opposite. Cut across a road and continue straight ahead on a grassy path through the countryside, following the markings.
(5) Continue straight ahead on a small road. Pass in front of a campsite.
(6) At the hamlet of Basses Noyelles, turn right. Cross the Helpe Majeure.
(7) Immediately afterwards, turn right onto a small street. Turn right again, continue along a path and then turn left.
(8) At the crossroads, turn right and leave the church on your right. Continue straight ahead on a small road.
(9) Return to the D117 and continue to the right. Ignore the road coming from the left and, at the hamlet of Les Catiaux, turn right. Cross the Helpe Majeure again and return to the starting point (S/E).
