Park on Rue du Bollenberg, in the large car park located at the village entrance/exit.
(S/E) After reading the information board on the Alsatian vineyards, head towards the village by walking up Rue du Bollenberg. Pass two junctions, walk past a cross, and you will reach a fountain.
(1) Turn left onto Rue du Printemps. At the first junction, turn right to stay on the same street, and reach the D505. Turn right onto the main road, pass the cultural sign for Orschwihr to reach a junction with traffic lights. Go straight ahead, then take the steps on the left, which lead up to a square with a statue of Saint Nicholas.
(2) Cross the square to the right and take the passage at the far end. When you reach Rue de l’Église, turn left, then left again to join the Grand’Rue. Walk up this street until you reach a junction with a cross. Then turn left onto Rue de la Forêt. At the junction on the right, follow Rue de l’Étang, which is on the right, and continue to the end of it to rejoin the Grand’Rue.
(3) Head up to the left, then turn right onto Rue de l'Hiver. Turn right again onto Rue des Merles, then cross the road to reach Rue du Val du Pâtre. At the next junction, head down Rue de la Source on the right. At the end, on Rue de Soultzmatt, turn left twice, passing the tree-driven wine press, and take Rue du Paradis. At the Y-junction, look out for the Saint-Wolfgang Chapel, situated between the two forks.
(4) Return to Rue de Soultzmatt, turn left to cross the street and take Rue des Primevères opposite. At the end of the street, turn right onto Rue des Saules, then immediately after the stream, turn right onto Rue de l’Automne. At the cemetery, enter it and, at the crossroads of the paths, turn left to reach Rue du Général de Gaulle. Then turn left, then right to reach the Japanese pagoda tree and Saint-Nicolas Church.
(5) Walk past the base of the tree and go round the church on the right. On the other side, walk past a fountain and the former presbytery. Note, on the left, the remains of Orschwihr Castle. You’ll reach the D505. Turn left onto Rue de Soultzmatt. When you reach the Grand’Rue, head down it to the left to return to the junction you passed on the way out.
