Kergaouen route

Park in the Golf de l’Odet car park in Clohars-Fouesnant.

(S/E) From the car park, retrace your steps and, at the sign for ‘Résidence du Golf de l’Odet’, turn right onto a path, walk past the entrance to the residential complex (recycling bins) and continue straight on until you reach a signpost marked ‘retour’.

(1) Turn right onto a path that leads into a wooded area. Follow this lovely path as it winds its way through deciduous trees and pines. You’ll reach a clearing where there is a second signpost marked “Variante”. This will be the end point of the return journey.

(2) Continue along a very wide path that runs alongside the golf course, on your right; go through a gate and look out for a signpost just after it.
Turn right. If you reach a road, you have missed the marker. Follow this tree-lined path straight on between the fields and, at the next marker post at the end of the golf course, turn left and continue along a grassy path until you reach a more open area where there is another marker post.
Cross a stream and turn left, leaving a private property on your right. Follow this path through the woods with a stream running above it, cross a small footbridge and emerge from the woods at a meadow (signpost). Turn right, walking alongside a meadow on your left. You’ll see the Keraven Braz farm on your left. Then walk alongside the fence of the Bénodet sewage treatment plant and come out onto a small road.

(3) Turn right and, opposite the rear of a house (Moulin de Keraven on the map), follow the road to the right, ignoring the entrance to the sewage treatment plant. Continue along the road, which leads to the D44.
At the ‘give way’ sign, turn left and walk for about a hundred metres.

(4) Turn left onto the small road leading to a thatched-roof house (Moulin de Kergaouen on the map), walk past the house and join another road. Follow it to the left until you reach the next signpost.

(5) Turn right at a small footbridge and follow the single track which winds through wetlands that can be very muddy in winter. Continue along the path through a woodland. Cross one final footbridge and reach the “Variante” signpost, which you passed on the way out.

(2) Turn right and resume the route, in the opposite direction to the outward journey, until you reach the first signpost marked “Retour”.

(1) Turn right, then left to follow a circular track that loops round the tennis courts and leads back to the golf course. Turn left to reach the car park (S/E).

Signposted with marker posts bearing the inscription “Route de Kergaouen” in purple. The marker posts serve as guideposts, but the route does not always follow the direction of the arrows; please check the route description carefully.
Please note: sections may be muddy in winter or after a spell of rain.

This route can be combined with:
- The Anses du Petit Moulin and Groasguen routes, totalling approximately 11.5 km.
- Around Clohars-Fouesnant, approximately 11.8 km.
