Access: From the village of Ergué-Gabéric, follow the signs for Chapelle de Kerdévot. The chapel is located about 4 km east of the village. Park in the large car park to the left of the chapel grounds.
Yellow markings ( old and sparse).
(S/E) Leaving the car park, turn left and follow the sign for "Fontaine" (fountain). Go through the gate and past the picnic tables. Follow the path around the field (heading east) to the votive fountain, which offers a magnificent view of the chapel.
No markings.
(1) Near a bench, climb the embankment and take an old path that has recently been cleared (May 2020) and winds its way alongside a small stream. This wild path, lined with old trees, first runs alongside the large field on the fountain side and then another on the road side. It requires a certain amount of agility and sure-footedness (see Practical Information). At the end of the path, climb the embankment to reach the road, which you follow to the right until you reach the first sunken path on the left
Yellow markings ( old and sparse).
(2) Turn left onto the Stang an Erer path (valley of the ploughs) and follow this wide path. It passes close to the antimony mine, which has been closed since 1936 and has become a refuge for bats (particularly the greater horseshoe bat). Continue along this path, which passes under a power line. Ignore the path on the left and continue until you reach the junction with a road.
(3) Turn right and you will arrive at Menez Kerdévot. After passing a farm equipment store on your right, turn left at the gable end of a house where you will see a sign for "Chemin Stang C'hwitell" (Valley of the Whistles). Follow this dead-end road downhill and continue along the path opposite. Ignore the yellow sign inviting you to turn right (short route approx. 3 km).
No real signposting: just a few old green markings and old directional signs that you need to look out for.
(4) Descend towards the stream then climb back up to the road.
(5) Turn right and climb steadily, following this road which passes through Kerdalès and ends at a fork.
(6) Turn left, pass Trolann and continue to Kervéguen.
(7) Turn right onto the road on the right and continue to Trolann Vihan, where you will find the mill that supplies flour to Bara-Bio shops
(8) Continue along the sunken lane Hent Trolann Vihan. This lane runs alongside fields and meadows
(9) After the last cultivated field on the left, leave the start of the road and turn left onto Chemin Garn ar C'héo (look for the old sign). Follow this path to Kervern farm (under restoration in 2024). Turn left onto the road and follow it for about 300 metres.
(10) In a bend, look for a path on the right that goes downhill (old Garn Ar Ra sign). Follow this narrow path (tricky passage, often very muddy) which leads to a small road.
(11) Turn right and follow this road, passing through Niverrot, the last hamlet before returning to Kerdévot.
(2) Pass close to the sunken path taken on the way there, then turn right to walk alongside the manor house, which has been converted into a relaxation centre. It is home to a dozen therapists, in an atmosphere conducive to meditation and rest for the mind.
Go through the gate to enter the fenced area of land of the chapel with its calvary and imposing 18th-century sacristy. If the chapel is open, a visit is a must (free guided tour in summer). Go to the back of the chapel and exit just opposite the car park (S/E).
