Park in the SNCF station car park located away from the village.
(S/E) From the car park, take the small road that runs alongside large buildings until you find a path that branches off to the left, marked with hiking signs. Take the path to a fork.
(1) Turn right at the fork.
(2) Turn right onto a narrower path and join the road. Cross carefully and take the path opposite, which descends slightly.
(3) Turn right; the path leads to an industrial estate. Go around this area on the left until you find a track on the left that descends a sort of embankment, passes some houses and joins the D1075 road. Cross this road (be careful of heavy traffic), then take the small road opposite towards Chaffaud. Cross the hamlet, take the path on the right and start descending. Ignore the first path on the left.
(4) Take the path on the left and continue in the same direction. Ignore the first intersection, pass a telephone transmitter, and ignore the next path on the right (marked with a cross).
(5) At a place called Bisaire, turn right onto a path that descends, cross a stream and pass in front of the water treatment plant. Continue in the same direction (south) until you reach the D526 road, with a monument on your left. Cross the road carefully, take a small tarmac road opposite that goes uphill and follow it for about one kilometre.
(6) Turn left and follow a good path for about 1 kilometre; ignore the first path on the right (there is a barrier) and continue for about 100 metres.
(7) Turn right onto a good path heading south-west and follow it to the hamlet of Longefont.
(8) Turn right to cross the hamlet. 150 metres further on, at a white cross, take the small road that descends to the right. Continue in the same direction, ignoring a path on the right. Further on, the path climbs, crosses a first small road and joins the D1075. Cross with the usual precautions, take the path opposite and pass under the railway line.
(9) Immediately afterwards, turn right and continue along the same path, which runs more or less parallel to and overlooks the railway line. Ignore two paths on the left and join the tarmac road at a place called Fourche.
(10) Continue straight ahead and, at the right-hand bend, leave the road and take a path on the left to stay parallel to the railway line.
(11) Just after a gas installation, turn right. Ignore the access road to Jouvène on the right and turn right at the next junction.
(12) Turn left and head for the crossroads at the circular.
(1) Continue to the right to reach the station car park (S/E).
unglasses A pleasant hike on good paths, with only one muddy section starting at point 7, but it doesn't last long. The rest is perfect. (Didn't see anyone else on this hike.)
A beautiful, easy route with plenty of sunshine. The only downside is between points 7 and 8, where there is a 100-metre stretch where the path is very muddy and waterlogged. Otherwise, no problems. (Did not see anyone else on this route.)
