Park in the small car park in the hamlet of Trézanne, where you already have a beautiful view of Mont Aiguille with the thatched chapel in the foreground.
(S/E) From the hamlet, follow a track heading north towards Col de Papavet.
(1) Leave the track and climb up to the right towards Col de Pellas and Col de Papavet.
(2) Cross the track and continue straight ahead to rejoin it. Follow it uphill for a few dozen metres, then leave it on the right.
(3) Cross the track again and continue on the path opposite. Although steeper, this path is more like a hiking trail and is in the shade. Continue to Col de Papavet.
(4) Keep to the right, heading towards Goutaroux. Do not take the path that veers sharply to the right, but take the one that passes along the north side via a forest track. At first, the path is fairly flat, even slightly downhill. Continue to the end of the path.
(5) Leave it and follow the path to the right. The slope becomes steeper and you climb up the north side. Join another forest track.
(6) Cross it and continue straight ahead. The path climbs quite steeply for 200 to 300 metres.
(7) Leave the forest and stay on the Aubeyron ridge until you reach the summit of the same name, with a view of Mont Aiguille and Grand Veymond on one side and Trièves on the other. Reach the summit of Aubeyron.
Be careful, you are walking on a ridge, see practical information
(8) Continue south on the ridge. Cross a small copse and then a short rocky passage before reaching the summit of Goutaroux.
(9) The view is superb, with the Chartreuse mountains in the background and Grenoble at their foot. Then all the ridges of the Vercors, as far as Mont Aiguille. Opposite, behind the Trièves plateau: view of Chamrousse and Dévoluy, via Taillefer, Oisans, etc.
Take the same route back to the hamlet of Trézanne (S/E).
