Chemin du Marais in Flines-lez-Raches

Short walking route, suitable for children on two-wheeled bikes. Scooters and other similar vehicles are not permitted.
Ideal for introducing children to walking and for a Sunday stroll. The only tricky bit is crossing the main road.
A walk through the fields where you can admire the locally grown vegetables and discover a small, open and safe blockhouse.

Extremely muddy sections; the path is virtually impassable, so you must use the access route through the pasture that runs alongside it. Not suitable for young children.

Hello, we had the bad idea of doing this hike in winter. Countless puddles along the long, straight stretch through the countryside, pools of water, waterlogged grass, mud: there was no escaping soaked shoes and socks; we should have worn wellies, and it would have been a pleasure. But the grass and trees were frosted over, as it had frozen overnight – a magnificent sight in the sunshine. A hike we’ll remember! We returned via the town, on the tarmac, which saved us from getting wet again. Thank you! (Photos available if you’d like them).

Thank you for your comment. It’s true that the ground isn’t as pleasant when it rains, which is why I’ve banned scooters and the like.
Kind regards

Hello,
A pleasant walk overall. However, there isn’t enough seating in places, especially for a snack break.
Also, please check the condition of the signposts, particularly the one at the end of the small paved path – it has fallen over.
That said, it’s an interesting route with plenty of insects (dragonflies).
The route’s GPS accuracy is very poor, which makes it a good opportunity to practise map reading or navigation with children.
Thanks.
Best regards.

We had to alter the route slightly because of the weather – the path between 12 and 3 was simply too muddy!
