Park near the bridge on a grassy area. Opposite, a large sign indicates the various possible routes.
(S/E) Take the path on your right marked with a red rectangle, which follows the road before turning right into the forest. Follow this narrow, winding path, which climbs quite steeply.
The trail crosses a wide forest path.
(1) Just opposite, there is a wooden staircase with four steps. Take this staircase and follow the red rectangle signs. Continue along this narrow path, which climbs steadily, following the red rectangle signs. At the end of the path (about 1.3 km), you will arrive at the foot of Wasenbourg Castle.
(2) Retrace your steps for 20 metres and take the path on the right. Follow the signs for Graebelsbrunnen marked with a red triangle. The path descends gently and remains in the forest.
(3) At the crossroads, take the stony path on the right that climbs uphill and follow the signs for Kreuztannen – Wasenkoepfel – Arnsbourg, marked with a red rectangle. After about 250 m, turn left (south-west).
You will arrive at a place called Kreuztannen.
(4) Continue straight ahead on the path marked with a red rectangle, called the Wasenkoepfel forest path. This path leads to the Wasenkoepfel observation tower at the top of the Reisberg (dedicated to the former pastor of Oberbronn, August Stoeber).
(5) Then head north-west towards the Col de l'Ungerthal, marked by a red rectangle. The path descends steeply. You will reach a small clearing.
(6) Continue straight ahead (red rectangle sign) until you reach a three-way junction, turn right and continue to the road. This is the Col de l'Ungerthal (there is a small refuge).
(7) Cross the road and take a small path on the left that descends gently under the trees, following the road: Sentier Léon Kopp, towards Daumen/Oberbronn, marked with a blue-white-blue rectangle. Follow this path until you reach a junction with another path and turn left. Stay on the blue-white-blue signposts.
(8) At the end of the path, cross a small road and follow it to the right. After 200m, take the path on the left marked Buckelstein - Reisberg - Roi de Rome, marked by a blue triangle. Follow this main path until you see the sign for Reisberg. Be careful not to follow this direction, but stay on the main path, which is unmarked, until you reach the Graebelsbrunnen fountain.
(9) At this point, turn right towards Niederbronn, marked by a red-white-red rectangle.
Follow this small path which descends gently to the junction with a carriage road. Turn right for 200m, then left and stay on the forest path. Continue to the junction where you will find the small wooden staircase you took on the way there.
(1) Turn right towards Niederbronn-gare, marked by a red rectangle, until you reach the finish point (S/E).
