Pastoral loop of Caves

Walk along the hillsides of the picturesque village of Caves, which takes its name from its wine-growing past. Through the heathland, among holm oaks, rosemary and frigoules, numerous dry stone walls and old sheepfolds bear witness to a pastoral presence that has now disappeared. During the climb, on a clear day, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline from La Palme to Barcarès.
The Fisherman's Trail in Leucate

This loop will take you to the foot of Leucate Castle before descending to the banks of the lake. Around a bend or from the lake shore, you will be surprised by the landscape stretching from the Corbières to the Pyrenees.

The tour of the cortals, serres, plats and coumes from Fitou

This easy loop passes through various places called cortal, serre, plat or coume. In the middle of the heath with its holm oaks, box trees, rosemary and junipers, you can admire splendid views of the Étang de Leucate, as well as primitive stone constructions called drystone shelters, a legacy of medieval pastoralism.

Along the heights of Leucate

Far from the hustle and bustle of Port Leucate, there is a magnificent place where peace reigns. The cliffs of Leucate. They link Leucate Village to La Franqui and this short walkk will let you discover their different features: cliffs, vineyards and pastures for sheep.
On the heights of La Palme

An easy hike that starts in the pretty little village of La Palme and forms a loop. The first third of the route climbs gently to the top of the plateau. The second part is relatively flat with a multitude of paths winding through the heath. The walk ends with a gentle slope, offering superb views of the sea, the Étang de la Palme and the old salt marshes.
Leucate lighthouse, semaphore and redoubt.

Enjoy a beautiful walk along the top of the Leucate cliffs. There are no difficulties, but be careful of the heat in summer as you will be in direct sunlight the whole time.
The speed camera in Périllos

Loop hike to reach the Montoulieu-Perillos weather radar. From the village of Perillos (abandoned village), easy hike on a stony path (emergency access) (beware, no shade) to the radar, but the descent is more difficult.
You can park near the Sainte Barbe chapel (point 11) to avoid having to climb back up to the village at the end of the hike, but the village is also well worth a visit.

This walk has two attractions: first, the history of the fort, and second, the beautiful scenery (mountains, foothills of the Corbières, ponds and the Mediterranean Sea).
Sainte-Lucie Island

Sainte-Lucie Island is a regional nature reserve, and dogs are not allowed.
A very pretty walk accessible to all, on a very passable path. There are many extraordinary views to discover.
Loop around Villesèque-des-Corbières

A short loop east of the typical little village of Villesèque-des-Corbières. After crossing vineyards, the first challenge is the climb up to the plateau where, in the middle of the heath and a field of wind turbines, you will reach the Col de Gléon. On the way down, we will pass close to the Janfestre spring before tackling the second difficulty, a steep but short ramp, to reach the starting point via the Chemin de la Cabayride.

Around the Étang du Doul

This easy, short hike is a loop around the Étang du Doul. It starts in the picturesque village of Peyriac-de-Mer, located between Narbonne and Sigean. Wine growing, fishing and tourism are the main activities here. During the walk, you will pass the Étangs de la Saline, Étangs du Doul, Étangs de Bages and Étangs de Sigean. From the heights, you can admire a splendid view of Bages and La Nautique.

A pleasant little family hike around a restored salt marsh for everyone to enjoy and discover.
The Lost Ark and Pic Saint-Victor

This is a sunny hike between heathland and rock formations, best avoided on hot days. Hike through the heathland, which combines natural geological, plant and man-made formations: arches, mills, sheepfolds, a fountain, a 12th-century church, a hermitage and a lookout point. The goal is to reach the 360° viewpoint over the Corbières at the top of the Ermitage Saint-Victor.
La Grande Capoulade

The Grande Capoulade trail allows you to discover La Clape from the Gruissan side, offering a double view of the Bages and Gruissan lagoons.
This hike follows the marked route on site, which is different from the one shown on the IGN map.

The Gruissan Pond, La Capoulade and the Barberousse Tower

Gruissan is a seaside resort in Languedoc that has managed to retain the charm of its roots. This hike takes you on a journey of discovery around the Étang de Gruissan with a walk along the water's edge where you can explore the wetland ecosystem. A trip to the foothills of the Clape massif around the Capoulade estate offers enchanting panoramic views. Finally, stroll through old Gruissan and visit the Barberousse Tower to round off a wonderful day.
From Bages to Les Pesquis

A short, easy loop west of the small village of Bages in the Aude department. This walk through wild olive trees, maritime pines and heathland offers splendid views of the lake and surrounding villages. You will discover varied landscapes with shaded areas, wide paths and very narrow trails.
Plage des Chalets - Île Saint-Martin

A pleasant family ride with beautiful views of the Plage des Chalets, the salt marshes and flamingos, the vineyards, the Étang de Gruissan, the old town and the Tour de Barberousse. Ideal in the early morning, after admiring the sunrise over the Plage des Chalets.

Fontfroide Massif

A loop from the magnificent Abbaye de Fontfroide in the massif of the same name. There are 360° views of the Corbières, the Pyrenees and the Aude coastline.
With no major difficulties, the route only takes in the DFCI paths of this highly protected massif.
The Tautavel Tower

This is an alternative way to the Tour de Tautavel from Cases-de-Pène. Advantage: sheltered from the tramontana wind. Disadvantage: sunny in summer.
Discovering the Massif de la Clape

The Cirque de Viviès via the Plat de l'Aven

Starting from Thézan-des-Corbières, this hike through pine trees and heathland leads to the natural amphitheatre of the Cirque de Viviès, a geological curiosity of the Corbières. After a somewhat challenging descent to the wild valley floor, the landscape opens up and vineyards appear everywhere. At the end of the route, the magnificent Château de Caraguilhes wine estate is a tempting invitation to end the day on a delicious note.
