There is a car park on Place des Palmiers, immediately to the right of the school, opposite the Jean Moulin hall.
(S/E) Leave the car park and take Avenue de la Mer towards the church. Turn right into Rue du Docteur Ferroul, then immediately left into Rue Lamartine. Gradually leave the village by turning right into Chemin des Caveaux and passing in front of the cemetery. Continue along the track, passing a house undergoing renovation.
(1) At the crossroads, take the road opposite marked by a yellow line and continue straight ahead to reach the highest point of the plateau. On your left is a field of wind turbines. The slope becomes slightly steeper.
(2) At the intersection, leave the path on your left and continue climbing until you reach the dirt road. Continue straight ahead.
(3) At the bend, several paths diverge. Other routes indicated by signs are possible. Continue straight ahead towards La Palme, always following the yellow markings. You will arrive at the flat part of the route at the top of the plateau.
(4) At the crossroads, continue straight ahead, passing through the middle of the second field of wind turbines. Follow the path, which bends first to the right and then to the left. In the heart of the heath, a few vineyards appear. Ignore several paths on the left and right.
(5) Leave the quarry on your left and start the descent straight ahead. This last part of the walk is particularly good for taking magnificent photos.
(6) Turn right, then right again about 250 metres further on and follow the hillside. Gradually, the Étang de la Palme and the remains of the old salt marshes will come into view.
(7) When you reach the crossroads at the bottom of the slope, turn left and continue to a three-way junction. Several paths join our route.
(8) Ignore the path on the right and the two paths on the left. Opposite, climb the small steep path marked with a blue trail that leads above the village of La Palme. The path will then gradually take you away from La Palme towards Port-la-Nouvelle, following the curve of the Cortals d'Aval.
(9) After a slight left turn, turn right at an acute angle. The location is marked by both a blue and a yellow trail. This 180° turn leads back to La Palme. Be careful not to slip due to the rocky ground and steep slope.
Return to the starting point by taking the Chemin de Saint-Vincent on the right, then the Rue du Clap on the left. Next, turn right onto the Rue du Lavoir and, immediately after a basin, which is the remains of an old wash house, turn left towards the car park, Place des Palmiers (S/E).
