To park, cross the village, pass the post office and continue along Rue du Plat. At the beginning of Rue Salamo, just before the restaurant La Cave d'Agnès, head towards the church with its adjoining cemetery. Instead of entering the cemetery, follow the path on the right which leads to a signposted car park.
(S/E) When you leave the car park, follow the path opposite. After the left-hand bend, continue straight ahead along the narrow path to the left of the olive tree. Be careful not to fall as the first few metres are on a slope. Climb the steep path until you reach a wider path.
(1) Take the first path on the right to reach a magnificent orientation table. Admire the splendid view of Fitou and its castle. Begin the descent to the next 5-way intersection. Go straight ahead, following the yellow trail. Leave a recently renovated building on your right. At the signpost marked Cortal de Marty, turn left towards the wind farm and theGRP® de Feuilla.
(2) At the top, continue to the right until you are opposite the third wind turbine. Leave the path and take a narrower track to the left of a signpost marked Courtiels, which then widens into a dirt track suitable for vehicles. Follow the Plat des Arques and Plat des Lugunals on either side until you reach the next crossroads.
(3) Pass under the high-voltage power line and continue straight ahead until you reach a house with a gate blocking the entrance. The owner clearly does not want anyone to enter his property, as he has fenced off the entire plot. Don't panic, there is a path on the right that runs alongside the barbed wire fence, allowing you to bypass the property and rejoin the track. Turn right and continue to the next crossroads, following the yellow markings.
(4) At the crossroads, turn left and go around the Serre du Scorpion towards Plat de la Coume Servi. Pass to the left and then to the right of a series of pine forests.
(5) At the crossroads at Plat de la Coume Servi, descend to the left until you reach another crossroads in the opposite direction to the yellow trail.
(6) Continue left downhill to Cortal des Garrigues. On the way, admire a primitive shelter made entirely of drystone called a capitelle, dating from the Middle Ages and used by shepherds at the time during their transhumance. At the bottom of the slope, turn left at an acute angle, passing in front of the house. Climb gently to a second drystone shelter adorned with a magnificent umbrella pine. Go around it at the back and continue climbing, ignoring all the paths on your left.
(7) At the high-voltage power line, leave the path immediately on your right and continue straight ahead until you reach the start of the hairpin bend on the left. Take great care and follow a barely visible path straight ahead which, at the end of the summit, leads to the crossroads you passed on the way up.
(1) Go straight ahead and follow the route you took on the way up in reverse to return to the car park (S/E).
