Signposting (blue square on a yellow background) is a bit dated, and there are a few signs still indicating the route. In Rophemel, the Rance flows through a valley of great beauty. Built in the 1930s, the hydroelectric dam submerged nine fulling and wheat mills. The dam and valley have been a "listed and protected site" since 1945. In addition to producing electricity, the reservoir also supplies drinking water to the city of Rennes.
The reservoir was drained in early 2018 to carry out work on the dam.
Another drainage operation is underway (2024) to carry out further work on the dam (see my hike: https://www.visorando.com/randonnee-6431... )

A route mainly on land. It will take you past Combourg’s two main bodies of water, the lake and the Étang des Maffins. Then, after passing through the La Croix Briand housing estate, it will take you to La Haute Boissière via a charming little sunken path. This spot is situated on a small hill about 80 metres above sea level, offering a lovely panoramic view of Combourg and the surrounding area in fine weather.
