The walk starts from the small car park located after the bridge over the canal when coming from Evran. You can park your car there (toilets and water point nearby).
(S/E) To start, cross the bridge towards Evran and take the towpath on your right. Follow the canal to the La Roche lock.
(1) Continue along the same bank and cross the small bridge over a branch of the canal. Stay on this path until you reach the Mottay lock (2 km). Here, you can admire the surroundings, where the sound of flowing water blends with the song of birds.
(2) Cross the small bridge just after the lock, turn right and walk along the mill to the metal footbridge. Cross the footbridge carefully (the ground is slippery when wet). The path then climbs and winds between a wood and a field. At the fork (100m after the lock), turn left and continue climbing (large right-hand bend) to pass in front of the Château de la Touche.
(3) From there, continue almost straight downhill. Admire the landscape. Cross Les Bouillons. At the end of the road, turn right towards Château de Beaumanoir, which quickly comes into view on the left.
(4) Continue and turn left at the end of this road to pass in front of the castle gate. Finally, take the path (no entry sign) on the right which descends towards Evran (you can see the bell tower).
At the end of this path, turn left, passing the rubbish bins on the main road. Follow this road on the other side on your right (a small path along the road) which leads directly back to the car park (S/E).
