Canal du Verdon walks

Wonderful hike through the Lower Verdon Gorges, starting in Quinson.

A family hike partly along the edge of Lake Esparron with many opportunities for swimming and picnicking. The second part of the hike is mostly in the woods with views of Lake Esparron. This hike is generally very shaded.

A circular loop in the communal forest, where you will encounter the canals that irrigate Provence. You will test the echo in an access gallery to the current canal, reach the small pass, and return via the old canal. You will also discover the Parrouvier fir trees, which are exceptional at such a low altitude and regenerate naturally.

Easy walk on little-used tracks and paths.

A circular route between Quinson and Lac d'Artignosc, passing on both sides of the Verdon. Walk along tracks and small paths with views of the Verdon at various points and of the villages of Quinson and Artignosc. Return via the Baume Bonne cave and the view of the Quinson dam.

A very beautiful family hike with stunning views of the Monts du Matin and Montagne Mussan.

This double circular starting from Verdon allows you to discover: - Notre Dame des Œufs, - the small port along Lake Esparron, It continues with a walk along the old canal with a passage over the rocks. Then a small beach and a path along the lake shore to the entrance to the lower Verdon Gorge. The return journey is through the mountains with distant views of the mountains.

A very pleasant, easy route through the Collet Blanc forest in Venelles. With little elevation gain, most of the hike is through the woods, which is pleasant in summer. There are so many paths that you can easily shorten or lengthen the hike to suit your preferences. Lovely view of Sainte-Victoire from the small pass of Collet Blanc.

This is a long but mostly shaded hike that allows you to go swimming in Lac d'Esparron and walk alongside the old Verdon canal and its structures without having to take the road. Some sections are tricky, particularly due to construction work. See reviews.
