Park in the Cigalons car park, Chemin de la Campane coming from Venelles, on the right immediately after the road passing under the railway line on the left.
(S/E) Take the track at the bottom of the valley, heading south-east, pass under the canal and then take the grassy track on the right, passing through a barrier. Follow the path parallel to the track in the hollow of the valley until you reach a crossroads.
(1) Climb the embankment on the right. Turn right onto the track and you will soon reach a hairpin bend. Leave the track and continue towards the bottom of the valley, on the other side of the fence from the track you took at the start. Then go around the game crops and you will reach a crossroads with wooden signs. Go up the track on the left, veering slightly to the right to reach Small Pass.
(2) Return to the track and continue downhill to the right. Reach a DFCI fire station, stay on the track and reach a Y-shaped trail junction.
(3) Leave the track here and take a narrow path on the right to stay on the ridge.
Continue through the Aleppo pine forest. At the start of the descent, you will see thefirst Parrouvier fir tree. Continue downhill to reach the bridge over the Old Verdon Canal.
(4) Cross this bridge and follow the canal on the left, i.e.:
- along the bottom of the canal, which is a safe route but offers few views,
- along the bank, with a few slightly dizzying passages but offering beautiful scenery.
Cross a track and continue opposite at the bottom of the canal or on the outer bank. Reach another bridge.
(5) Cross it and continue along the bottom of the canal. Make several turns in the meanders of the canal.
(6) Cross the Grand Vallat. After Les Cigalons, you will arrive at a final bridge. Leave the canal here and head back down to the Les Cigalons car park (S/E) via the former Scouts de France premises.
