Circular loop towards the Chapelle du Maquis de la Croix Scaille

Starting from the centre of Gedinne, the walk first heads through the countryside towards the nature reserve and the ponds of the old Moulin de Boiron before turning off and reaching the Croix Scaille plateau through the woods.
The Croix Scaille scrubland was located slightly below the former Jacob Farm.
A chapel had been built there. A memorial has now replaced it.

Notes

You can stop for a picnic under cover at the Croix du Garde (4) or at the Espace liberté 44 (5), where there are a few outdoor tables.

If you remain very quiet, you may be lucky enough to see some deer and/or wild boar.

After heavy rain, the streams at Moulin Coul (3) and Barbais (9), aided by the work of master beavers, overflow their banks and you have to be inventive to cross the fords without getting your feet wet, despite the planks or footbridges that have become far too short.

For your information, the first 2 and last 3 kilometres of the walk are on tarmac.
