Circular walk between Engayrac and Beauville

Park in the car park at Engayrac church.

(S/E) Leave the car park heading towards the church entrance and go round it to the left, taking Rue du Presbytère until you reach a road leading down to the right. On the descent, after passing a small pond on the right, you’ll come to a Fork in the road.

(1) Turn left onto Chemin de Pradal, following the blue markings. On the climb, leave the road marked ‘private property’ on your left and head down the stony track on the right. Follow the Ruisseau de Gandaille. At the bottom of the descent, turn left onto the grassy path towards a wood. Continue following the blue markings until you reach a road.

(2) Follow the road to the right, following the blue markings, and continue along the stony path, which becomes grassy after passing the farm. Leave the path with the Blue Cross on your left and continue along the edge of a woodland and then a hedge. At the end of the hedge, continue along the grassy path for about fifty metres until you reach a fenced-off field; walk along the left-hand side of this until you reach a road.

(3) Take the road leading uphill to the left, with a Blue Cross on the right, and join the D201.

(4) Cross it carefully and follow it to the left for about 50 metres, then turn right onto the grassy path for approximately 700 metres, following the blue arrow. At the end of the path, you’ll come out onto a road.

(5) Continue straight ahead for about twenty metres, then turn left onto the stony track, marked with a blue sign. Continue along the road which passes through the hamlet of Gerbal and joins the D122.

(6) At the Stop sign, turn left and follow the road for just over 200 metres until you reach the house at number 511, then turn right onto Chemin de Gayrau et Lacalquétie.

(7) About thirty metres before a bend with a grey barrier opposite, turn left onto the grassy path marked by a yellow sign pointing towards Engayrac. At the three-way junction, ignore the path leading to Beauville straight ahead (marked by a Blue Cross) and turn left following the yellow sign towards Engayrac. When you reach the D122, turn right onto it and continue as far as the water tower.

(8) Turn left onto Chemin de Bordeneuve, then, about a hundred metres further on, take the first left into Rue de l’Ancienne Forge, marked with a blue sign, and continue to the house on the right-hand side, number 158.

(9) Head down to the right along the grassy path between this house and the cemetery. Continue along this grassy path, which goes round the leisure centre and joins a road.

(10) Follow this small road, which takes you back to the church car park (S/E).
