(S/E) From the car park at Place de la Mairie, take the Chemin des Tours for 400 m to the junction.
(1) At the junction, turn left and follow the road. Pass the Chemin de Cardénal on your right – this will be your return route. Walk past the Romanesque Church of Saint-Pierre in Cassignas and arrive at a Fork in the road.
(2) Turn left onto the Route de Fayet, which descends towards La Birme and Le Fayet.
(3) At the bottom of the descent, at the junction, leave the road on your right and continue left towards La Tuque; then, in front of the gate to the private property, take the path on the left marked with a blue sign. Follow this grassy path to a road at the hamlet of Payssel. Follow it straight on until you reach a junction.
(4) Turn right, then left at the next Fork in the road, heading towards Les Tricheries via Barthez and Fontanet.
(5) In the village of Fontanet, leave the road on your left (see ‘Practical Information’ for an alternative route) and continue on to Les Tricheries.
(6) When you reach the D 656, turn left and follow this road carefully as you pass through the hamlet of Les Tricheries. Take the first road on the left after passing through the village and continue along the stony path, which then becomes grassy.
(7) At the junction, continue straight ahead along the grassy path, following the blue markings. This path crosses the Russeau de Fontanet and emerges next to the church in Cassignas, where you rejoin the original route to return to the town hall car park (S/E).
