Loop in the forest around Prapoutel

Park in the Pré Bouquet car park, next to the archery range.

(S/E) Follow the path south towards the Beldina Nordic area. Continue until you reach Plan Paca.

(1) Take the small path on the right that winds between the fir trees. This will take you to a car park.

(2) Cross it and take the path on the right. Continue slightly uphill until you reach the footbridges.

(3) Turn left and climb up towards the Beldina Nordic area. Join a wide track and turn right to reach the Nordic area chalet.

(4) Leave this track here and take the path on the left of the gate, which climbs through the woods. Follow it for a long time until you reach a crossroads indicating the Pré de l'Arc colony.

(5) Follow the signs towards the Pré de l'Arc colony, continuing uphill to the heights of the Pré. You will reach the buildings of this colony.

(6) Turn left, taking care to stay on the main path so as not to disturb the residents of the colony. Continue along this path until you reach the GRP® Tour des Lacs des 7 Laux crossroads. Take the path opposite, climb up following the yellow and red markings to the top of Gros Caillou.

(7) Keep following the markings and begin the descent into the forest, which is easy at first but becomes steeper. Pass under the Ardoisière ski lift before arriving at the Chalet des Cortillets.

(8) Pass the Bouquetins chairlift arrival point and follow the signs for Prapoutel via a path leading off to the right. Very soon, leave the path and follow the track down to the Lac chairlift departure point.

(9) Take the path on the left to descend and reach the Pré Bouquet car park (S/E).

Much of the path runs through an area where you may encounter herds of cattle grazing in the mountain pastures. Please do not disturb the animals and keep dogs on a leash.
