Circular route from the hamlet of Blanc to Gaillan-en-Médoc

Start point: the hamlet of Blanc on the D202, Route du Pin Sec, at the junction with Chemin des Poulards (bus shelter). You can park on the hard shoulder at the start of Impasse de Blanc or Chemin des Poulards, whilst being considerate of local residents.

(S/E) Set off along the path, with your back to the D202, then continue along the small road to the left until you reach the junction with the Route de Castagney.

(1) Cross with care, then continue straight on for about 250 m along the track.

(2) Just past the entrance to the house, turn right onto the grassy track (not shown on the map). Continue to a crossroads. Turn right again, then left 150 m further on, and carry on to the road.

(3) Turn right onto the road and continue to the bend.

(4) Turn left onto the white track, then take the first path on the right. Further on, ignore a path on the right and continue to another cross-path. Turn right to reach the track.

(5) Head left until you reach the D202.

(6) Cross carefully and continue along the track heading to the right. Pass through the hamlet of Gartieu de Beautemps (at^{the first} building on your left, you’ll see old harvesting machinery). Carry on until you reach the Fork in the road.

(7) Turn left onto the Chemin des Pargaux and, after 500 m, cross a stream.

(8) Immediately turn right onto the grassy track towards the D202.

(9) Turn left onto the wide verge running alongside the D202 (Route du Pin Sec), until you reach the next junction. Cross the road carefully to return to the bus shelter where you started (S/E).

You can park on the hard shoulder at the start of Impasse de “Blanc” or Chemin des “Poulards” (please be considerate of the neighbours).

To the north-east (approx. 5 km away): Gaillan-en-Médoc, with its shops

To the east (approx. 5 km): Lesparre-Médoc is the main town in the Bas Médoc and vies for the title of ‘capital’ of the Médoc.
