Description of the walk

Park next to the bridge over the Deyre Canal.

(S/E) Take the path that runs alongside the canal. Please note it may be a bit muddy after rain. After walking alongside the marshes, you’ll reach the junction of a track closed to traffic, marked by a barrier.

(1) Turn left onto this wide, white track and follow it to the crossroads marked by a large oak tree.

(2) Turn left onto the sandy path. Walk through this pine forest until you reach the next junction. Turn left in the middle of the pine forest.

(3) Turn left, walking along the verge of this small road to reach the car park by the bridge over the Deyre Canal (S/E).

A lovely, easy little walk. The route is varied, alternating between oak and pine woodland. Pretty undergrowth. A bit of walking through the sand – good for the calves! The highlight: spotting a roe deer, as well as a sow with her three adorable piglets!

Hello, and thank you for the route.

The banks of the waterway are lovely, with irises everywhere this spring, ducks, a stork and deer.
We took a slight detour to avoid the long, straight main road.
The forest sections are a bit of a slog when it’s all sand, but it’s great for building up your ankle strength!!!
