Departure. The hike starts from the car park at Saint-Sauveur cemetery. However, you can also use the church car park, which is located on the route.
(S/E) From the Saint-Sauveur cemetery, head back towards the village centre. Cross Route de Cissac and continue straight on Rue des Écoles, keeping the church on your left. Once you have passed the church, turn immediately right towards Château Fontesteau. Pass the two posts marking the entrance to the estate (kilometre 1). Do not continue to the château.
(1) Turn right at the first intersection and continue straight ahead, following the road/path for just over a kilometre. Cross Route de Cissac (D104) again and continue straight ahead. Follow this path for approximately 1.5 km.
(2) At the intersection, turn left towards the D205 (Route d'Hourtin) and cross it. Follow the path until you reach the entrance gate to Château du Breuil.
(3) You can see the remains of this fortified castle, which was the most powerful fortress in the parish of Cissac Médoc. Take the road on the right that goes around the castle to its second entrance. Continue along Chemin du Breuil (on the right) before taking the forest road on the left after 50 metres.
(4). Follow this path, which continues straight ahead into the forest. Cross the vineyards to reach Château de Lamothe from the north
(5). Then follow the D104 on the left (7 km crossing point) to enjoy a beautiful view of the 19th-century building. Then, after crossing the D104, take a detour to the right to rejoin the path that leads to Le Reynats by crossing a road. It ends at Route des Reynats.
(6) Turn left, continue straight ahead and pass a Trans Gironde bus stop overlooking the D205.
(7) Cross towards Chemin du Lavoir. The path leads into the undergrowth.
(8) The path, which is almost straight, leads after one kilometre to Château Fontesteau, which you approach from the east.
(9). Return to the intersection you crossed on the way there.
(1) Turn right into the woods. The path continues for about 1 kilometre until it bends to the right.
(10) Take the path that branches off to the left. The path then zigzags (left/right) through the hamlet of Glomeau.
(11) Continue along the path through the woods, which ends in front of the Route du Bois de Créon (D104), which you cross.
(12) Follow the road along the path through the woods on the other side of the road on the right.
(13) Turn left along the forest. The gravel path is straight. Pass under the power lines.
(14) Shortly afterwards, turn left onto a northbound path that leads to the hamlet of Labrousse (Saint-Sauveur municipal track), which you will cross.
(15) Follow Route du Clôt for a few hundred metres.
(16) Turn left to rejoin the road near the cemetery and your starting point (S/E).
