Description of the walk

From Périgueux, take the D710 towards Le Bugue. Park at the start sign, near Rue de la Boétie.

(S/E) From the start sign, opposite the Pré Saint-Louis, head up Rue de la Boétie on the left. Continue to the junction after the pond.

(1) Turn left just after the pond, before the post office, then cross the bridge and continue left onto Rue Bastière, then left again onto Rue de Paris, heading towards the church.

(2) Cross Rue de Paris, keep right at the junction to join Grande Rue, then opposite, Rue de la Reynerie. Continue to the first sharp bend on the right, up a hill.

(3) Turn left towards the hamlet of Le Vignal, then follow the path branching off to the right. Walk through the hamlet of La Mouthe, keeping to the right on the road until you reach the junction with Impasse des Tulipes.

(4) Head towards La Genèbre (with the wash house on your right). 100 m from La Genèbre, take the old track towards Cumont, which offers a lovely view. You’ll reach a junction.

(5) Follow theD32E5 to the right, then turn left towards the hamlet of Cantegrel.

(6) Keep right at the junction leading to this hamlet, then continue along the path opposite and climb up to the hamlet of Cumont.

(7) In the hamlet, turn left onto a lane, then left again onto Route de Cumont. Ignore a path going straight ahead, then look for a junction with a footpath.

(8) Take the path on the right just past the house, then turn left. Continue straight on until the end of the path. This joins a track which you’ll take to the right to reach the hamlet of Ladouch.

(9) At the junction, at the second house, take the tarmac path on the left and, at the corner of the house, take the path on the right to the road (Impasse de la Maillerie). Continue along the road, straight ahead, then turn right. Turn right onto the Route de Périgueux (D710) then left until you reach the Route des Babots.

(10) Return to Le Bugue via the small Route des Babots on the left, which leads to Place du Pré Saint-Louis (S/E).
