Circular route between Vaux-sur-Seine and Sagy

Start from the car park at Vaux-sur-Seine station (one of the sections of the Transilien J line, terminating at Mantes).

(S/E) Opposite the station, turn left to take the footbridge over the railway line. Turn right.

(1) Join the^GR®1by heading left up the Sente Quiété. At the end, turn right. Very soon, take the steps on the left, the Chemin des Jeunes Plantes. Leave this path at the second junction by turning left onto the one-way street.

(2) Cross the Route de Pontoise with care. At the next junction, continue straight ahead along the Chemin du Plant de Fortvache. Ignore the two paths branching off to the left. At the end, turn left.

(3) At the junction, follow the path straight ahead. At the fork, keep left. Pass the wash house and the Sente des Gâts on your left. Ignore the path that branches off to the right along a wall.

(4) Go straight on at the crossroads to follow Rue d’Adhémar. Pass Rue des Carrières on the left, then the one-way street on the right. Walk between the town hall and the church.

(5) Ignore the street, the alley and the cul-de-sac. Ignore the one-way street and the car park. At the Stop sign, go straight on. Pass the cemetery. Before the Stop sign, climb the steps and cross the D922 carefully. Ignore the path on the right.

(6) After the cemetery, go straight on at the junction. Ignore a path through the woods branching off to the right. At the fork, ignore the road to the right. At the junction, turn right until you reach the crossroads.

(7) Go straight on and ignore a path on the left. The path goes through a wood. After the houses, take the hairpin bend to the left.

(8) Take Rue de la Ferme on the left, then Rue des Champs on the right. At the stop sign, make the first turn left then right using the pedestrian crossing. Before the copse in the middle of the fields, turn right.

(9) Follow the road to the right. Stay on the tarmac. Pass to the right of the church.

(10) Turn left onto Rue de la Libération. Pass the wash house on the left. Leave Rue des Aulnes on your right.

(11) Ignore a path on the left, and carefully leave Condécourt via the D169. Take the first path on the right into the fields. The path heads left along the edge of a wood and then enters it on the right. Cross the Aubette stream and ignore a path on the right.

(12) Let the^GR®1head off to the left. Then follow Rue du Moulin to the left. Turn right after the church. Go straight on into Ruelle de la Procession. At the end, turn right. At the stop sign, go straight ahead. At the crossroads, follow Rue des Prés straight on.

(13) Ignore the dead-end on the left. Keep left into Rue Pierre Bonté. Cross the D28 at the pedestrian crossing and turn right. Turn left twice. The path runs alongside the D28 then turns right. Ignore a path on the left. At the end, first turn right then left. Pass to the right of the small square and its wash house. Follow the D81 to the right.

(14) Turn right before the roundabout and ignore the path on the left. At the end, turn left onto the footpath.

(15) The path crosses the Bois du Héron. At the first junction, go straight on. At the next one, leave the tarmac.

(16) At the end, turn left. At the junction, go straight on.

(17) Ignore the path on the left. Keep left at the fork. Ignore a path on the right. In the woods, head straight up to the D922.

(18) Cross the road carefully to enter Vaux-sur-Seine.

(3) At the crossroads, you’ll cross the^GR®1you took on the way out. Ignore the streets branching off to the left and right and continue straight ahead to reach the cemetery; walk alongside it until you come to another crossroads.

(19) Take the second right. Walk past the château, round the church and under the railway line. Ignore the street on the right. Take Rue du Général de Gaulle on the left. Turn into the second street on the right, Rue Daniel Potrel. Walk along the Seine.

(20) At the bridge leading to Île de Vaux, turn left. At the end, take Rue du Général de Gaulle on the left. Cross the road at one of the pedestrian crossings and turn right onto Rue du Pressoir, going against the flow of traffic. Opposite the pedestrian crossing, go up the stairs and then down to the right to the station (S/E).

Access to Vaux-sur-Seine station:
- By train: Transilien line J, terminating at Mantes (Paris Saint-Lazare station network). For timetables, visit the Transilien website.
- By car: park in the station car park. Please note that this car park has limited capacity; if it is full, look for a parking space in the adjacent streets.
