Description of the walk

At Les Eyzies, head towards Périgueux. After 15 km, in the village of Saint Félix, park on the right in front of the town hall.

(S/E) Sign opposite the town hall of St Félix. Go to the church and turn left, then right, towards the railway line.

(1) After the underpass, go up to the right. When you reach the plateau, continue along the road, ignoring the two paths on the left. Continue to the start of the trail.

(2) Continue straight ahead, then continue on the path on the right to reach a T-junction with Chemin de la Castellenie.

(3) Take the path on the right. Keep to the right until you reach the houses, then continue straight ahead until you reach Chemin des Collines Rouges and arrive at the small road.

(4) Turn left onto it, then take the path on the right until you reach Route de la Franval.

(5) Continue left. Cross the hamlet of La Franval, then arrive at an intersection towards La Gauterie.

(6) There is a shorter version of the trail; see practical information.
Continue straight on until you reach Route des Cinq Chênes.

(7) Turn left onto it until you reach the D710. Be careful when crossing the departmental road to take the path opposite. Continue straight ahead on the path, ignoring the other small paths. Go downhill, then slightly uphill until you reach the top of the hill.

(8) Then take the path on the left until you reach Route de Landrevie.

(9) Take it on the left until you reach a place called Les Pradets at a crossroads.

(10) Keep to the right. Turn left at the end of the wooded area. Enter the forest and you will arrive at a golf course at a crossroads.

(11) Continue straight ahead. A barrier closes this path. You will need to call the golf course to obtain the code to open the gate (the golf course number is on the gate). Once everyone has passed through, don't forget to close the barrier again. Cross the golf course and you will find a second barrier (not locked). Continue straight ahead until you reach the D710.

(12) Be careful when crossing the departmental road, then turn left onto the small road. Keep left at the end of the road. Continue straight ahead and, after the Joinies buildings, you will come to a fork in the road.

(13) Take the path on the right and enter the woods, continuing straight ahead until you reach an intersection at the end of the path.

(14) Turn right, then continue straight ahead until you reach a T-junction.

(15) Turn left, then at the next junction, turn left again until you reach the next fork before the road.

(16) Turn left onto a path, then after 200 m, turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach the road.

(17) Turn right onto the road and you will arrive at the initial fork.

(1) Go back under the underpass, turn left and return to the (S/E).

A pleasant route alternating between paths and small roads. Very pleasant trails towards the end (after point 13).
The description needs to be updated in two places around point 11:
- When you arrive at the golf course, the gate is locked with a padlock: you need to call the golf course (the number is on a small sign on the gate) and they will kindly give you the padlock number.
- Shortly afterwards, to leave the golf course, you must continue straight ahead at first and then quickly turn onto a path on the left, below the track that leads to a large hangar. The map is not entirely accurate at this point.
