The start is at the Town Hall Square located on the edge of the D47, which is the road to Les Eyzies, at the hiking information board. A few parking spaces are available.
Follow the yellow markings
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, follow the pavement on the left to reach the pedestrian crossing, then cross the D47 carefully, opposite the church. Take the path that runs along the left side of the church and climbs towards a pedestrian tunnel under the railway line.
(1) A few dozen metres from the exit, turn right onto the wooded path that climbs towards the houses. Follow the road to the right for 400 metres until you reach the edge of the woods on the left (yellow sign).
(2) Take the path that enters the forest. After 600 metres, take the hairpin bend to the right at the marker. After 200 metres, you will come to a fork. Take the maintained path on the left (both lead to a place called La Castellénie), then descend opposite to the crossroad.
(3) At this intersection, turn left for 80 m and then right onto the path that runs alongside a pond (there is a red fire brigade sign at the entrance). At the end of the pond, continue straight ahead and join the cross road. Turn left towards the hamlet of La Franval, where you will pass through a horse farm. Follow the winding road through the houses, passing in front of the greenhouses. Continue to the next signposted intersection (Saint-Félix circular loop, short variant) at a place called La Gauterie.
(4) Turn left onto the track that winds its way up the hill, offering beautiful panoramic views, for 2 km to reach the Mortamar road.
(5) Carefully cross the main road and follow the track for 200 m, passing in front of the hunting huts. Be careful not to miss the path on the right as you leave the woods. Continue for 800 m until you reach the signpost on the left.
(6) At this signpost, which refers to another route, take the forest path that curves sharply to the left. At the next intersection of paths, first turn right then left.
Follow the path that passes by a pond on the left (obscured by an embankment and trees) and continue to the road.
(7) At the Mortamar road, turn right, pass in front of the cemetery and continue towards the SNCF bridge without crossing it. Turn left onto the path and return to the pedestrian tunnel at the start, located 100 metres away.
(1) Retrace your steps along the outward route to reach the Place de la Mairie (S/E).
