Start: Reservoir at the south-west exit of Fiménil.
(S/E) Take the paved road called Chemin du Champ François, which also leads to Beauménil towards the south-east. On the way, you will see a beautifully renovated old farmhouse.
(1) At the first crossroads, turn right and pass the place called Champ François. You will soon enter the forest. Enjoy the sound of the streams and the diversity of the trees. At the first intersection, turn left onto a road that becomes increasingly steep.
(2) Once you reach flat ground, go straight ahead at the four-way intersection. A small meadow in the middle of the woods is evidence of former agricultural activity in this area.
(3) The trail curves widely to the northwest. After passing through a plantation of young pine trees, leave the path climbing to the right and continue for 50 metres.
(4) Take the wide, grassy path that is not suitable for vehicles on your right. After a few zigzags, it will bring you back to a beautiful forest path. Admire this beautiful wooded area with tall pine trees. Soon, take a new path on the right that is not suitable for vehicles.
(5) When you reach a wide forest road, take the descent on the left and return to the Route de Stéaumont.
(6) Soon, houses will appear. Continue along the paved road. It will take you through a hamlet where, in the distance on your left, you will see the heights of Lépanges-sur-Vologne. You are now almost back where you started, at the Fiménil reservoir (S/E).
