Use one of the two free car parks at the end of Route de l'Étang.
(S/E) Take the path that runs alongside the car park on your right and the public pétanque courts on your left. Head towards the lake and then turn right.
(1) Behind a tree on the right, there is a forest entrance/exit that you can take to get to the next point.
Be careful to follow the path that branches off to the right, as this area can be muddy after rain. There are a few winding and difficult passages between the trees (these are easy to navigate on a mountain bike). This path will take you across the road to the pine forest opposite. Immediately turn left to follow the edge of the forest. At the end, cross the embankment on your left. Follow the path until you cross Route de Buglose (D461), taking care to rejoin the path opposite, slightly to the right. You will soon reach the quarry path.
(2) Continue straight ahead and then take the path on the left a few metres further on. This will take you onto a very pleasant short mountain bike route: there is a slight incline and it is very pleasant. Then return to the quarry path and continue to the left.
(3) Go straight ahead (this is the least pleasant part in hot weather, as there is no shade and you can see the working quarry). Continue along the long straight road for about 800 metres, then turn left to reach a crossroads a few dozen metres further on.
(4) Follow the path on your right, which will take you to the road (D150). This entire section is shaded and heavily wooded.
(5) Turn left to follow the road along the grassy, shaded verge, then onto the partially shaded pavement.
(6) Turn right towards the Chapel of Miracles and the Miraculous Spring of Buglose for a historical break. A small shaded path runs through the site, which you can also walk along if you wish. I find it quite rejuvenating.
(7) Retrace your steps.
(6) Continue straight ahead, making sure to stay on the right-hand side of the road, where there is a cycle and footpath. Pass in front of the Basilica of Our Lady and then the cemetery and you will come to a four-way crossroads.
(8) Turn left onto the D461, Route de Houn dou Bern, and follow it to No. 369, at the edge of the woods. Just before the bus stop, take Chemin des Écureuils on the left and take thefirst path on the right.
(9) Follow this path, which runs alongside a cleared wood and the Buglose stream on your right. This section can be quite muddy after rain, but is still easily passable. When you enter the woods, you can either go straight ahead and follow the stream and its pleasant music, or turn left, which will take you further along the cleared woods while staying in the shade. The two paths meet further on. Turn right a few metres before the route you have already taken and join the tarmac road (D461). Turn right and follow it for about a hundred metres to rejoin the Wildlife Nature Reserve.
(10) Just after passing Route de la Gravière, take the path on the left that leads into the forest for about 25 metres. Then turn right to follow a relatively narrow path between two woods. You may encounter horses here, so be careful, and be aware of the abundance of ferns and gorse (which can be quite painful when they prick you). You will come to a junction with a sandy path (Chemin de Broustous).
(11) Turn left to reach the Étang de la Glacière (there is little shade on this section).
(12) Take the small passage between the wooden posts to enter the pond enclosure, and turn right. Continue straight ahead to return to the car park (S/E).
