Bures loop in Chapet

Park in the car park at Château de Bures (1 Rue du Centre, 78630 Morainvilliers).

(S/E) Turn right out of the car park onto Rue de la Croix de l'Orme, then take^{the second} right onto Rue de la Maréchale.

(1) At the end of the street, take the farm track opposite (Chemin Rural 32). It turns left and joins the A13 motorway (this is not the most interesting part of the route, but it is not long).

(2) The road then turns right. At the first crossroads, turn left along a hedge.

(3) At the next junction, continue straight ahead for about 300 m. The road then turns right to join the Route de Brezolles.

(4) Just before the barrier that leads back to the paved road, take the path on the left. At the end, turn left and then, after 50 m, turn right. After 400 m, the path turns right towards the village of Chapet (on the left of the large white hangar, which can be used as a landmark). Enter the village via Rue de la Grève, which is a continuation of the lane. It descends to the town hall.

(5) From the town hall, cross the village of Chapet following the yellow signs (PR®). Turn right opposite the car park onto Rue de Brezolles, then take the first left onto Rue du Clos Saint-Denis and turn right onto Rue du Bout Malo. Go down Ruelle de l'Abreuvoir and turn right onto Route de Verneuil, then right again onto Rue des Aulnes. At the top, turn right, then left to rejoin Rue du Bout Malo. At the top, turn right, then left onto Chemin des Hèzes and rejoin a farm track opposite.

(6) Follow it and, after 700 m (end of the yellow PR® signposting), turn left to return to an intersection you passed on the way there.

(4) Follow the paved road opposite, then the road turns right into the hamlet of Brézolles. Cross Brézolles following the main road and, at the exit of the hamlet, before the last houses, turn right onto Chemin de la Muette.

(7) After the houses, turn left before the barrier and follow this path into the forest. Cross a first path, then turn left at the second.

(8) The path turns left and crosses a road. It continues opposite, slightly to the right (sign prohibiting motorcycles/quads). After 350 m, don't miss the path that branches off to the left between the trees (be careful, there are one or two tracks before it that you should not take). It climbs and passes over old quarries until it joins a road that you follow to the right. Shortly afterwards, take the path opposite behind the concrete posts and continue along this path until you reach the junction with the GR®1.

(9) From this point until you reach your destination, follow the red and white GR® markings. Continue straight ahead until you reach the houses. Go down to the crossroads and take the narrow path opposite between the houses. At the end of the path, turn right onto Rue du Val Joli, then Rue du Chemin Creux before reaching Rue Sainte-Anne. Turn right and head back to the car park (S/E).

There are no facilities (food, drinks, etc.) at the start or along the route. I did not see any public toilets either.

No public transport (maybe buses...)

By looping back to point (4) without going through Chapet, you reduce the distance by 3.6 km, for a total of 7.4 km
