Description of the walk

By train (Transilien line P, from Paris-Est station / La Ferté-sous-Jouarre station). Bus to Place de Jouarre on route 41.
If travelling by car, park in the car park at Place de Jouarre or Rue de la Tour.

(S/E) At the corner of the Town Hall, take Rue Montmorin, go under the archway and continue along Rue du Marteroy,

Red/WhiteGR®®11signposting

(1) Turn right into Rue du Chemin Vert and follow it to Romen, ignoring the two turn-offs on the right.

(2) Cross Rue de la Mare, then Grande Rue, continue straight on along Ruelle Albert Besnard, then turn left into Rue du Cloud.

(3) At the stop sign, turn right to follow the D114 and, after 100 m, turn onto a grassy, brambly path that descends into the woods (yellow markings). Ignore two paths branching off to the left.

Red/white markings

(4) Atthe third fork, turn left, go down the path, cross the D204, continue straight on and turn right onto the first path running alongside the Courcelles-la-Roue campsite. Ignore a path on the right and continue slightly to the right until you reach the Moulin de Choisel.

(5) Follow the path down which crosses the Ru de Choisel via a wooden bridge, then head back up to the right (yellow markings). Cross the D204 again, then climb up the path opposite leading to the lower reaches of the hamlet known as Ru de Vrou.

(6) Turn right onto a grassy path, then left onto the road; pass the junction and continue straight on, then walk alongside a Briard farmhouse.

(7) Continue slightly to the right along a farm track that leads across fields to the hamlet known as La Borde au Bois.

(8) Cross the hamlet, continue to the Choqueuse State Forest and take thefirst lane on the left, Route du Batardeau.

(9) Turn right onto Route Neuve at the first junction.

(10) Continue straight on to the right along the Route Forestière du Marais until you reach the Fringale car park.

Yellow markings

(11) Cross the D402 and take the road opposite leading to the hamlet of La Mazure, then turn right at the first crossroads.

(12) Turn left onto thefirst farm track and follow it to the hamlet of Le Grand Balleau, which you cross by following a tarmac road.

(13) Turn right into the main avenue of Château de Perreuse, pass the pond and head uphill, following the road, to the hamlet of Les Corbiers.

(14) Follow the D114 to the right for 200 m – watch out for passing cars ! – then take the road on the left that crosses the hamlet; this marks the end of the yellow signposting. Then head straight down a farm track leading to the Dhuys Aqueduct.

(15) Turn right, walk along the Dhuys underground aqueduct, cross the D21A at the Bois de Foy and continue to the next road.

(20) Take thefirst street on the right, Rue du Petit Palais, and follow it to Jouarre Town Hall to return to the car park on Place de Jouarre (S/E).
