Mountain bike route 14: Saint-Ergatcircular route
(S/E) From the car park, go round the community hall on the right and head for the D43. Cross it carefully at the pedestrian crossing and take the small road opposite, Chemin de Listry Vraz, which runs alongside a residential area. Pass the Ruisseau de Stang Vraz, hidden by vegetation, and go past the sign marking the exit from Pouldergat.
(1) At house number 4 on the right, leave the road and turn left onto a path that enters a wooded area. Turn immediately right and head towards a detached house. Go round the back of it and follow the path which overlooks a meadow on your left and then runs alongside a field on your right. You’ll come to a signpost.
(2) At a clearing in a slope, turn left and follow the lovely avenue of various deciduous trees, which leads to a road near the pumping station.
(3) Cross the road and follow the path which veers to the right (rustic picnic table) and crosses the wooded area marking the boundary of the drinking water catchment protection zone. Turn right and head uphill, leaving the catchment protection zone.
(4) Continue along a farm track in a straight line between cultivated fields (view of the Pouldergat wind turbines) and arrive at a small country road running across the area, which mainly serves farms.
(5) Turn right and follow this quiet little road (with a grass verge down the middle). Go round the Kerguéréon farm, pass Créac’h Voyen and follow the same road which runs alongside the safety perimeter of a quarry situated below, until you reach the ‘Give Way’ sign on the D143, the road from Landudec to Pouldergat.
(6) Cross it carefully ( good visibility, but cars approach quickly due to the downhill gradient) and head down the path running parallel to the road, which ends at the remains of a flight of steps.

(7) Turn left, go round the concrete plant, cross the Goyen via the Pont Roudou footbridge and head towards a bridge that was once part of an old road: an ideal spot for a break.
(8) Head up to the right, then turn left and join the Route des Trois Ormes de Landudec. Always cross the D143 with care and continue straight on towards Le Moulin Com.
(9) Turn right, then right again onto an uphill path and carry on until you reach the road leading to Moulin Poas (rural lodge).
(10) Continue along the footpath, which runs alongside the River Goyen and passes above Moulin Neuf.
(11) After two old wooden gates, note the Kernilis washhouse on the left (not shown on the map). This washhouse is unique in that it is built on a hillside rather than at the bottom of the valley, as it is fed by a spring originating in the wooded area (information board). Continue along the path, which remains at the bottom of the valley, then turn right to climb a steep path up to the access road to Moulin Poas, which you can see below (small waterfall by the roadside).
(12) Turn left, cross the Goyen again and follow the road as it bends right towards Moulin Vert until you reach a rustic flight of steps on the left.
(13) Head up to the left along a path that skirts a field and emerges near the access road to Kerlaouéret farm (view over the Goyen valley towards its source at Plonéis).
(14) Turn left onto the road, ignore a road leading to farms on the right and left, and continue along the small road which climbs steadily. You’ll reach a junction before the D43, near the recycling bins.
(15) Turn left, pass the Petit Bourg farm, ignore a crossroads and arrive at the fork you passed on the way there.
(5) Turn right and join a road near the pumping station.
(3) Cross it and, following the reverse route of the outward journey, head for the car-sharing car park (S/E).
