Grands Chênes car park in Nizon town.
Partial mountain bike marking, section N°10.
(S/E) From the Grands Chênes car park, walk up the street "Rue Saint-Sébastien" around the church and the calvary, which features the statue Gauguin painted as "le Christ Vert", the Green Christ. Return to the car park and turn right onto the newly renovated road (Rue des Lavandières) which joins the D24 road.
(1) Follow it to the right and cross it with care to take the road almost opposite in the direction of "Coat Canton". Follow the footpath alongside a sports field and the municipal technical services to arrive at Kerangallic town.
(2) Follow the avenue of trees called "Allée Camille La Villemarqué" (information sign).
(3) Turn right to go down to the chapel "Chapelle de Trémalo", which contains a large Christ painted by Gauguin as the "Christ Jaune", the Yellow Christ. This chapel was built in the 16th century, financed by the du Plessis family. It was consecrated in 1558 and the pardon takes place in September.
(4) Continue along the road and, at the crossroads, fork right downhill onto the road. Take the path on the left, which passes the radio antenna.
(5) At the end of the bend, turn left onto a track that leads down into the woods. Follow it until you reach the street "Rue De la Villemarqué".
(6) Turn left at the hairpin bend and go downhill to reach the banks of the Aven River. Follow this path, dominated by the woodland "Bois d'Amour" and its rocky chaos. Pass the windmill "Moulin Neuf", ignoring the footbridge on the right, and reach the flood control basin.
(7) At the postsign "Moulin du Plessis 300m -Moulin du Haut Bois 1500m", continue upstream along the Aven river for 2.5 km below the woodland "Bois d'Amour". Ignore the two footpaths on your left.
(8) At the junction of two paths, take the one that goes uphill to the left to reach a place called "Le Haut Bois". The route goes through old buildings. Turn right, climb the hill to the next crossroads.
(9) Turn left to walk toward Saint-Maudé town.
(10) After the farm, fork left on a downhill track and cross the cattle pens. After the stream, the path climbs up to the entrance of the alley "Allée Camille de la Villemarqué".
(3) Turn right to follow this alley, and continue straight ahead on the path taken at the start of the walk to reach the car park (S/E).
