Start at Place des Grands Chênes in Nizon
(S/E) Follow the ‘Route des Lavandières’ eastwards to join the D24. Follow it to the right for just under a hundred metres, then take the path on the left to pass close to the Pont-Aven technical services, cross a road and continue straight ahead.
(1) At the junction with a small road, go straight on down the lane.
(2) At the end of the lane, follow the path on the left, cross a stream and join a road before reaching the hamlet of Saint-Maudé.
(3) At Saint-Maudé, turn right onto the road and continue until you reach the road towards Le Haut-Bois.
(4) Follow this road to the right, then take a left-hand bend to reach the hamlet of Le Haut-Bois.
(5) Cross it and continue along the path opposite. At the end of the path, turn right and head towards the banks of the Aven, following the path and ignoring the paths branching off to the left and right. Ignore the path leading to the Moulin du Haut-Bois. Walk alongside the river, passing close to the drinking water treatment plant on the opposite bank. Leave the sewage treatment works on your left. Carry on past the Moulin Neuf to reach the Pont-Aven bridge; go under it.
(6) Turn right into Rue du Bois d’Amour, cross Rue de la Villemarqué at the bridge and head uphill to join the Route de Trémalo (signposted on the right). Take this road to the right and follow it, then turn left at the end of the road to reach the Trémalo Chapel.
(7) Continue along the lane to reach the junction of the circular road you passed on the way out.
(2) Turn left and follow the route in the opposite direction to the outward journey to reach the first junction, which you also passed on the outward journey.
(1) Turn left to pass close to the secondary school and reach the D24. Cross it carefully and head downhill to reach the picnic area on the other side.
(8) At the top of the picnic area, take the small path on the right. Walk down to the stream, cross it and follow the path to the right to walk alongside the river. Turn left to reach the care home, join the D783 and turn right to walk alongside it for about 150 metres.
(9) Take the path on the right near the safety anchors. When you reach a road, continue straight ahead to reach the ruins of Rustéphan.
(10) Follow the path at the end of the road, which becomes a road again; turn right to join the Nizon road (D77). Follow it to the right for 300 metres.
(11) Turn left onto the path to pass near the wash house. At the end of the path, continue along the road to reach Nizon.
Opposite the church, turn right to return to the starting car park (S/E).
