Description of the walk

Start: National Trust Maggie's Bridge (Loweswater) Car Park, Loweswater, Cockermouth CA13 0RU

(S/E) From the car park take the path going towards High Nook farm. Cross High Nook farm (Be careful this is a working farm with livestock and farm dogs.) and continue straight on the path between fields for a couple of meters until seeing a path on your left hand side.

(1) Take left on this small path going up towards Black Crag and Gavel Fell. Navigation will be needed here as path is not clearly visible.

(2) Once at Gavel Fell, take right (North) on the path going towards, Blake Fell. At Blake Fell summit, take the path slightly on the right going towards Burnbank Fell (leave the path going to Sharp Knott in front of you).

(3) At Burnbank Fell, take the path going down (North-East). Continue on it until reaching an intersection with several paths. Take right on the path going down and continue straight going down using the lower path. Continue on this path until seeing the start of a wood and a gate on your left hand side (just after crossing Holme beck).

(4) Turn left, to pass the gate and enter Holme wood. Continue straight on this path until reaching the shore of Loweswater lake. Once by the shore, turn right to pass the gate and continue on the large path with Loweswater lake on your left hand side. Continue straight until the car park (S/E)
