Description of the walk

Start: Little telephone box in Loweswater village.

(S/E) Facing the telephone box, take the little road on its left. Continue on this road until reaching the little church on your right hand side. Keep going straight passing below the Kirkstill Inn pub's garden to cross the little river Park beck.

(1) Continue straight following the large path. Continue on this path for around 1.2 km until seeing Mosedale Beck river further down on your right hand side.

(2) Go down in the direction of the river to cross it. There is a little section of the river that is narrow enough to allow the crossing. Be careful crossing of the river can be tricky if it has rained the previous days. Once the river crossed walk up hill to find again a path (there is a little path to go up hill but it is not really visible).

(3) Once up, take left (south) in the direction of Little Dodd summit. Path is more or less visible on the ground you will need to follow a path that goes to the summit.

(4) Once at Little Dodd summit continue straight (south) in the direction of Hen Comb summit.

(5) After reaching Hen Comb continue straight to go down until reaching a perpendicular big path.

(6) Take left as if you want to contour Hen Comb by its bottom. Keep on the large path (east then north) to be able to cross Mosedale Beck and find the large path at the bottom of Mellbreak summit. This area can be flooded and muddy.

(7) Take left (north) on the large path overhanging Mosedale Beck. Continue straight until (2) then keep following this path to arrive at the car park (S/E)
