Description of the walk

Park at the side of the D30A before the hamlet of l’Évêché.

(S/E) Opposite the hamlet, take the path on the left, which climbs at a moderate gradient through the forest until it crosses the road (D30).

(1) Continue straight ahead. Once you are near the road, take a sharp left-hand bend to join it, cross the road and rejoin the path opposite, slightly to the right.

(2) Cross the road again, follow the path opposite which serves as a shortcut and will cross the same road three times. The third time, continue to the right for about a hundred metres.

(3) Leave the road and take a path on the left. This path heads south-east through a sparse woodland and up a gently sloping hill to reach the Belvédère du Puy (936 m)

(4) Return via the same route to the car park (S/E).

A lovely little walk through the forest to the Belvédère du Puy, where a magnificent view awaits you.
There are a few quite steep sections
PS: I set off from the bottom of the village of La Terrasse au Carre

I’m sorry, but I didn’t find this walk particularly interesting, apart from the lovely view at the end. It’s rated as a medium-difficulty walk, yet it’s nothing but an uphill climb – at times very strenuous – along muddy paths that cut across the hairpin bends of the Route des Petites Roches. I wouldn’t recommend it to those who are not very fit or during the wet season.
