(S/E) Park near the farms on this small road.
You can also park in the small town of Agüimes (pronounced agouimé) with its charming central square, and start from there.
After about 100 metres north, take a yellow-marked path (S-40) on the left that climbs gently.
(1) Cross the road to rejoin the path a few metres further on. Then cross the road again to continue along the path. The slope is still gentle.
(2) Leave the path to cross the road (watch out for cars) and continue along the path a few metres further on (3) to descend into the gorge/canyon. There is no difficulty in following the path and the trail; you will go through a small tunnel to reach the red rock formations.
From there, you can go about a hundred metres further before turning back.
(4) You have two choices: take the path on the left to quickly climb back up to the road (my route) or retrace your steps.
(5) Make a small detour by climbing over a low wall and walking 60 metres due east to find a wide path that continues to descend gently.
(6) Enjoy the beautiful view of the troglodyte caves before returning to the path you took on the way up.
(S/E) Return to the starting point.
