Paseo Costa de Telde

Start: Access by car, parking close to the roundabout, at the bottom of Avenue del Cabildo Insular.
By bus, station at the same traffic circle, at the top of the shopping street Calle Palmera de la Garita.

(S/E) Leave the traffic circle for the sea along Calle Palmera, a shopping street with bars and restaurants, as far as the children's playground. Join the Paseo Maritimo de la Garita.

(1) Turn right to follow Paseo Maritimo de la Garita. Paseo Costa de Telde" signs will accompany you on your way to and from this promenade, so you can stop whenever you like. Continue along the coast to the next beach, Playa Hoya del Pozo.

(2) Go back up to the restaurant and turn into the first street on the left, Calle Felix Alvo. Continue past Playa del Hombre to the start of a path leading down to the beach.

Do not take this path, instead turn right, then left into Calle Becquer. Keep left at the crow's feet and continue along the promenade, always to the right, along the coast.

Fork right to join the road, then turn left onto Paseo Costa de Telde, leading to the lighthouse.

(5) Turn right, then follow the pedestrian walkway along the coast to Playa de Melenara. This popular beach offers numerous restaurants and water sports activities. It is possible to walk along the beach.

(6) Turn around and head back towards Paseo Costa de Telde.

(5) At the lighthouse, turn right into the car park above the harbour and walk around the lighthouse along a track on the coast.

(4) Return to the outward path, as far as Playa del Hombre.

(3) Go down the steps to the right, cross the beach and rejoin the outward path. Turn right to return to the next beach by the same route.

(2) Descend again to Playa Hoya del Pozo, continue to Playa de la Garita.

(1) Turn left up Calle Palmera. At the top of the street, find the traffic circle where you'll find the bus stop and nearby car parks (S/E).

get off at the same traffic circle at the top of the Calle Palmera de la Garita shopping street.

La Garita archaeological site at the playground.
Rehabilitated old fishermen's houses on the seafront.
El Bufadero, the blowhole between (1) and (2), where, depending on the state of the sea, you can observe impressive geysers. La Garita bufadero, or the dance of the water.
Taliarte lighthouse and port.
Melenara/Everest beach, named for its location on the same latitude as the world's highest peak, Everest.
