From Fouesnant, take the D45 to Cap Coz beach. Drive along the beach (one-way street) and park in the large Pen ar Cap car park on the left.
GR®®34(red and white) and white markings.
(S/E) Return to the beach and head west, either walking along the beach or following the pedestrian crossing that runs alongside the main road.
(1) Turn left onto the coastal path. The start of the path is clearly marked. Follow this path overlooking the sea. On your left, you will have a beautiful view of Cap Coz beach.
Continue along this path, which winds between old maritime pines and runs alongside beautiful properties on the right.
Pass the small beaches of Bot Conan and then Lantecost. Climb the dune for a view of Roche Percée. TheGR®® continues in this direction.
White markings
(2) Turn right twice, then take the road that climbs up from the beach; on your right is a car park and on your left is the upmarket Bot Conan Lodge campsite. Turn right onto the first path that runs alongside the Bot Conan property. Pass by the large manor house built in 1899. Continue along the orchards of an organic kiwi producer.
(3) Turn left to go up a small road. On either side, you will see a large mobile home campsite. Turn right at the first road, which will take you to the road leading down to Cap Coz, the road you took when arriving by car. Notice the beautiful colourful beehives in the meadow on your right.
(4) Cross (take care, especially in summer) and continue straight ahead. Leave the road on your left and continue along the path that descends towards a yellow house. Go around it on the left, ignoring the marked path that branches off to the right. Continue along the path that climbs up to the entrance to the Kersentic campsite. Continue along this small road, which climbs slightly, and pass the Loc Hilaire equestrian farm. Note the large house with its keep-shaped turret.
(5) You will come out onto Allée de Loc Hilaire, which you will descend on the right. At the roundabout, ignore the white markings that branch off to the left and continue to join a road near a secondary school on the left.
No markings or very few.
(6) Cross the road (take care, especially in summer) and continue straight ahead, following the signs for Site de Penfoulic and Maison du Marais. Turn right onto a pedestrian crossing that crosses the Résidence de la Fontaine and leads to a small road on the right, Chemin de la Digue. Ignore a lane on the left leading to houses and continue to the next fork.
(7) Turn left onto a wide wooded path overlooking the marshland and arrive at the car park managed by the Conservatoire du Littoral.
(8) Turn right onto the wide path designed for disabled people, follow a stream, cross a footbridge and continue, ignoring the path that branches off to the left into the woods.
(9) Take the next left, which runs alongside orchards, then left again. In April, this path is lined with carpets of Sylvie anemones or wood anemones, delicate white flowers. At the end of the path, turn right. Opposite, you will see a wooden barrier. Return to the wide path that descends towards the Maison des Marais, an information point.
(10) Cross the dyke, ignore the small road that branches off to the right and take the small, very steep road to end up opposite the dyke.Note the dyke, built around 1870, and its system of sluice gates, which allowed water to be retained upstream at low tide for aquaculture. The old tide mill was used to regulate this water supply at high tide.
GR®®34markings (red and white).
(11) Do not cross this sea wall, but turn right to continue along Anse de Penfoulic, either via the wide path or along the shore, depending on the tide. Come out onto the roadside and continue.
(12) Make a short detour to the Penfoulic harbour dyke to see the entrance to the large Port-la-Forêt sailing centre and finish by following the long car park (S/E).
